In our continuous effort to provide robust and secure data access solutions, SyncEzy is thrilled to announce the introduction of SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) connections for our PowerBI integrations. As part of our commitment to ensuring the highest security standards for your data, we will be transitioning to SSL-only connections starting from 30th June 2024. This guide will walk you through the benefits of SSL connections and how you can seamlessly integrate them into your current workflow.
Understanding SSL Connections
SSL connections encrypt the data transmitted between your PowerBI application and SyncEzy's database, ensuring that your information remains secure and inaccessible to unauthorized parties. This encryption protocol safeguards your data integrity and privacy, making it essential for compliance with data protection regulations and internal security policies.
Benefits of SSL Connections
- **Enhanced Security:** SSL encryption protects your data from being intercepted by malicious actors during transmission.
- **Data Integrity:** Ensures that the data sent and received remains unchanged and free from tampering.
- **Compliance:** Meets the requirements of various data protection regulations, helping your organization stay compliant with industry standards.
- **Trust:** Encrypting your data transmission builds trust with your stakeholders by demonstrating a commitment to data security.

3. **Test Your Connection:**
- After enabling SSL and verifying the certificate, test your connection to ensure that data can be securely accessed without any issues.
4. **Adjust Your Firewall Settings:**
- If you have firewall settings that restrict outbound connections, you may need to adjust these to allow SSL connections to SyncEzy's servers.
## Timeline for Transition to SSL Only
- **Immediate Effect:** SSL connections are available immediately for all users to ensure that you have ample time to transition.
- **Enforcement Date:** Starting from 30th June 2024, SyncEzy will enforce SSL-only connections for all PowerBI integrations. Non-SSL connections will no longer be supported beyond this date.
