How to connect QuickBooks Workforce database with Microsoft Excel
Recommended Drivers
You will need the latest MySQL Connector/NET and MySQL Connector/ODBC drivers in order to connect your QuickBooks Workforce data to Microsoft Excel. The links can be found below. Download the driver based on whether your system is a 32-bit or 64-bit system.
Open ODBC Data Sources (64-bit) by searching for it.
Click on "Add" in the User DSN
From the list, select MySQL ODBC 8.0 Unicode (your version could be different) and press Finish.
You will then be prompted to enter your database information. You can get these details by navigating to My Integrations > QuickBooks Workforce PowerBI details > Connection Details.
Data Source Name: Any name you like Description: Optional TCP/IP Server: Server name, Port: 3306 User: Database username Password: Database password Database: Database name
Press Ok when done with the above. This data source should now be populated in the User DSN tab. Close this window.
Open Excel > Data > Get Data > From Other Sources > From Microsoft Query
Select the data source you just created from the above steps and press ok.
Select the tables and columns you need as per the normal procedure and load them into Excel.
Once you follow the steps, your data will be available.
