We understand that safeguarding customer data is of utmost importance. As cyber threats continue to evolve, it's imperative for businesses to implement robust security measures. In line with our commitment to data security, SyncEzy is thrilled to announce the launch of a new feature within our portal – IP Whitelisting. This feature empowers clients to enhance the security of their database connections by restricting access to predefined IP addresses.
This paid feature is accessible for the following Power BI integrations:
simPRO to Power BI
QuickBooks Workforce to Power BI
PropertyMe to Power BI
KeyPay to Power BI
Key Features of IP Whitelisting
- Enhanced Security: IP Whitelisting ensures that database connections are permitted only from specified IP addresses, thereby reducing the risk of unauthorized access.
- Customizable Whitelist: Clients can add up to two IP addresses to the whitelist, allowing flexibility while maintaining security standards.
- Ideal for Fixed IP Addresses: This feature is particularly beneficial for clients with fixed IP addresses, offering an additional layer of protection against unauthorized access attempts.
How IP Whitelisting Improves Security
Traditionally, database connections rely on public IP addresses, granting unrestricted access to the database. While convenient, this approach poses security risks as any device or server can establish a connection, regardless of its IP address. By implementing IP Whitelisting, SyncEzy addresses this concern by allowing connections only from specified IP addresses, effectively mitigating the risk of unauthorized access.
