SharePoint to SafetyCulture One-Way Integration – FAQ

Overview

This integration allows files and folders from a selected SharePoint location to be automatically synced to SafetyCulture in one direction (SharePoint → SafetyCulture). Changes made in SharePoint are reflected in SafetyCulture, but not the other way around.

General Questions

What does “one-way integration” mean?

It means files and folders sync from SharePoint to SafetyCulture only. Any changes made in SafetyCulture will not sync back to SharePoint.

What happens during the initial setup?

During the initial sync:

  • All supported files and folders in the selected SharePoint location are synced to SafetyCulture.

  • You will receive a confirmation email once the initial sync is completed.

Supported Features

What types of changes are synced from SharePoint to SafetyCulture?

The following actions are supported after the initial sync:

  • Adding new folders (with supported files)

  • Adding new files

  • Renaming files

  • Moving files

  • Deleting files

These changes will automatically appear in SafetyCulture.

Are new folders synced automatically?

Yes, as long as:

  • The folder contains files with supported formats.

  • The files meet the size limit requirements.

What happens if I upload an unsupported file type?

The file will not be synced to SafetyCulture. Instead:

  • An entry will be created in the integration error logs for tracking and troubleshooting.

Limitations & Unsupported Features

Are empty folders synced?

No. Empty folders are not synced to SafetyCulture.

Which file types are not supported?

SafetyCulture does not support syncing the following file types:

  • CSV files

  • Video files (MP3, MP4, WEBM)

  • Text files (TXT)

  • Drawing files (DWG)

Is there a file size limit?

Yes. Files larger than 50 MB will not be synced to SafetyCulture.

Can I move, rename, or delete folders in SafetyCulture?

No. Folder operations are not supported on the SafetyCulture side:

  • Folder move ❌

  • Folder rename ❌

  • Folder delete ❌

These actions must be performed in SharePoint.

Will folder changes in SafetyCulture affect SharePoint?

No. Since this is a one-way integration, folder or file changes in SafetyCulture do not sync back to SharePoint.

Troubleshooting

What should I do if a file is missing in SafetyCulture?

Verify that:

  • The file type is supported.

  • The file size is under 50 MB.

  • The file is located in the configured SharePoint sync folder.

  • The folder is not empty.
