Updating your PowerBi connection string to SSL

Updating your PowerBi connection string to SSL

We are transitioning to SSL-only connections for all our PowerBI integrations.  This encryption protocol ensures that data transferred between your systems and our services is secure and inaccessible to eavesdroppers. Please ensure you switch to an SSL connection by the 30th of June 2024 to maintain uninterrupted access to our services.

Currently Both SSL and Non SSL connections are allowed but from the 30th of June only SSL connections will be allowed.  We recommend making the change asap.

Below are the steps to enable data transfer over SSL for PowerBi integration between SyncEzy database and PowerBi application:
  • Open PowerBi report for specific integration.
  • If SSL is not enabled in connection string and data sync is tried then below error will be encountered in PowerBi

  • click on "File" from top menu bar > click on "Options and settings" > open "Data source settings".

  • Now click on "Change Source .." at the bottom

  • add ";sslmode=require" in connection string at the end and click on "OK" button.

Steps to update password in existing PowerBi connection:

  • Click on "Edit Permissions ..." in Data source settings

  • Click on the "Edit" button in credentials sections

  • Copy new password from SyncEzy portal, paste in password input box and click on save button.

Notes

Password and SSL both can be updated at once.
